Dr. Muhammad Irfan is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Islamic Studies. He remained the HoD of the Department from 2013 to 2015. He has been teaching at Federal Urdu University since 2008. He has a PhD in Islamic Banking from the University of Karachi. He has published several research papers in HEC-recognized national and international journals and presented research papers at national & international conferences. He is the Assistant Editor of the Al-Wifaq Research Journal. His main area of research is Fiqh Studies. Additionally, Seerah Studies, Quranic Studies and political & social thought of Islam are other topics of interest. He is a member & coordinator of the many committees of this University as well as the other universities. He is also the research coordinator for M.Phil. Students.

Research Interests: Islamic Fiqh, Islamic Banking, Legislative Studies.
