  • Department of Electrical Engineering

    Introduction

The department of Electrical Engineering, established in 2004 is one of the prestigious department in the field of Electrical Engineering in Pakistan. The department aspires that its student be better prepared to handle modern life challenges, explore technologies and systems for creating and using electrical energy in ways that do not impose a burden on the global environment. In this regards, Outcome Based Education (OBE) based curriculum is specially designed, that enables the students to cram techniques required to solve complex engineering problems and equips them with managerial and professional skills. The graduates of the department are not only able to serve in Pakistan but also represent the country in various industries and academic institutions abroad.

  • Vision

To emerge as a leading department for excellence in engineering to produce highly motivated graduates able to apply engineering knowledge to cater the challenges of modern industry.

  • Mission

The Mission of the department is to provide high-quality engineering education and research environment to produce cutting edge Electrical Engineers, innovators, researchers, and entrepreneurs with high human values to serve society, industry, nation, and the world. The Vision and Mission of the department has been approved by the BoS and BoF (held in Jan-2021) followed by the approval from the Academic Council. The Vision and Mission of the department are published on the university’s website. Furthermore, they are prominently displayed on several noticeboards across the department.

  • HoD Message

Department of Electrical Engineering is the largest constituent unit of Federal Urdu University of Art’s, Science & technology in its size and scope. It has been in operation since 2004 and has graduated ten batches of students to date who are gainfully employed in various public and private sector organizations and are also pursuing graduate degrees in national and international universities. All the graduated batches have Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) accreditation. The department has eight modern laboratories which are equipped with the latest training aids to enhance the learning experience of the students. It has digital electronics systems,Basic electronics, machines and control,EE workshop, telecommunication networks,Industrial power electronics, simulation and projects laboratory. Students also have access to two computer laboratories with latest computer hardware and software for computer based courses and fast internet connection. For research purposes, students have access to IEEE digital library as well as other digital libraries with access provided by HEC. Our faculty members are carrying out in quality research and are regular participants in international conferences and seminars. The field of electrical engineering along with its various areas of specializations is rapidly going through changes and we are acutely aware of the need for constant innovation and rethinking. This feeling is reflected in periodic review of the curriculum based upon the input from the industry as well as research of our faculty members. We are also constantly upgrading our infrastructure by inducting new equipment and establishing new laboratories. Whether you are a prospective student or wishing to join as faculty member, or you are interested in establishing linkages with the department, we welcome your interest and would love to answer your queries. programs in undergraduate and postgraduate level. The degree programs offered by the department are as under:
    1. BS Electrical Engineering.
    2. MS in Electrical Engeering
    3. Ph.D in Electrical Engeering
We welcome students who want to excel and to advance in their life with sheer commitment, dedication and hard work. In closing, we hope our website will provide you a useful aid to become familiar with Electrical Engineering department.
